Robert COMBAS
.
Robert COMBAS is born in Lyon (France) in 1957.
He lives ans works in Paris.

Famous since the end of his studies in 1980, Robert Combas stands out as a leader in the « Figuration Libre » movement. His spontaneous and free paintings do not leave us indifferent. He trifled with codes and principles and turns away from them. He innovated in his perceptive vision in a sound, convinced and happy way.
With his large flat areas of vivid and bright colors, on which characters stand out highlighted by a big black line. His works eloquently demonstrate a flavour of rock and swing music. In addition to his characters who appear to dance on the painting, a multitude of figures, heads, animals, flowers and objects reverberate in different ways on the painting.
This exhibition entitled « Hommage » (
« Tribute ») is realized in view of the 2012 « Greatest Hits » exhibition at the contemporary art museum of Lyon (France).
